Mary J. Lockey, age 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 18, 1941, in Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of James and Frances Gibbs Chase. She was united in marriage with Wayne L. Lockey on April 17, 1959 in Bassett, Iowa.

Mary worked in childcare for many years. She had also worked in Dr. Berryhill’s office in Dunkerton and at Harmony House Care Center. She loved children, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her early years, Mary enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include her Husband, Wayne of Waterloo; a daughter, Angela Duren of Mason City, Iowa; three sons: Jon Lockey of Joice, Iowa, Kevin (Donna) Lockey of Northwood, Iowa and Robert (Carolyn) Lockey of New Hartford, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, including a granddaughter she raised, Natasha Lockey; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Sharon Stillion of Parkersburg, Iowa, Ginger Putney of Georgia, Karen Wygle of Parkersburg and Patty Spencer of Sheridan, Wyoming; and a brother, Michael Chase of Appleton, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Georgette; a son, Bruce; a sister, Shirley Wygle; and a brother, James in infancy.

Services:
Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa.

Visitation:
Monday, May 9 and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at Garden View Chapel.

Cemetery:
Inurnment at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Nashua, Iowa.
