Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Erickson Funeral Home in Traer for Mrs. Nora Axon, former long time resident of Hudson. Rev. Chester McKean, pastor of the Hudson Community Church, was in charge.

Born Nora Green in Traer on March 9, 1869 she married John Axon Nov. 11, 1889. The couple lived in the Dakotas and in Traer until they came to Hudson in 1906. They purchased and resided in the home at 528 Jefferson Street for 43 years. Mr. Axon operated a butcher shop here for 35 years. He passed away April 4, 1952 and Mrs. Axon went to make her home with a son, Edwin and wife at Carroll, Iowa. She had been in a rest home the past year and a half and died April 29 in the Carroll hospital.

In addition to the son, Edwin, Mrs. Axon is survived by another son, Dr. Don Axon, San Pedro, Calif., three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Omer Green of Cedar Falls and Ralph Green of Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Mrs. Axon was a member of First Brethren Church of Hudson and when that church merged to form the present Community Church, she became a charter member of it.

Burial was in the *Traer Cemetery.
