Biography--

Thomas LeRoy Hetrick, age 75, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital of a natural causes.

Tom was born in Sioux Center, Iowa, on January 9, 1941. The son of Lyman “Bud” and Geraldine (Wedlock) Hetrick. He married Carol Mehlin on July 21, 1968 in Waterloo.

Tom graduated from Cherokee High School in 1959. He worked as a shipping clerk at John Deere Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Tom appreciated the simple things in life, he enjoyed being outdoors and cherished spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife, Carol of Waterloo; two daughters, Sherice (Brian) Ortman of Waterloo, and Daena (Setnu Jenkins) Hetrick of Cedar Falls; a son, Steve Hetrick of Waterloo; and Jim (Kandi) Lee of Clear Lake; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Carey Hetrick of Cherokee and David (Shirley) Pierce of Aurelia, IA; and a sister, Jerilynn (Donald) DeMorland of Davisonville, MD.

Preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister at birth; a brother, Larry Hetrick; and a sister, Alice Jean Buenger
