Lorraine S. Strack (1922-2016)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Lorraine S. Strack, 93, of Cedar Falls died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born April 28, 1922, in Los Angeles, California, daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Klein) Sulzinger. She married Thomas “Cobe” Strack on April 28, 1943, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He died May 28, 2014.

She graduated from high school in Buckeye, Arizona, and attended Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff. She was employed in social work for the Black Hawk County Department of Human Services.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary (David) Kabel of Cedar Falls; two sons, David Strack of Waterloo and Charles Strack of Logan, Utah; three grandsons: David and Will Kabel of Iowa City and Paul Kabel of Cedar Falls; and a brother, Robert Sulzinger of Folsom, California.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Greenway and a brother, Joseph Sulzinger.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, APRIL 28th at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. She deeded her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program.

Memorials may be directed to the Sierra Club Foundation or the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.
