J.L. HOWARD, 68, SUCCUMBS IN WATERLOO

John L. Howard, 68, former resident of Ottumwa, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Waterloo where he had lived for the last 21 years. Death occurred at Presbyterian hospital.

During his residence in Ottumwa Mr. Howard worked at the local plant of John Morrell & Co. and during the time he had lived in Waterloo he had worked 18 years for Rath Packing Co.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joe Genochio, Mrs. Nick Sulentic and Mrs. Harlan Miller, all of Waterloo; one son, Charles Howard, Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Jack Morris, Waterloo; a brother, Dave Howard, Ottumwa.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday in Waterloo after which the body will be brought to Ottumwa and burial will be made in Shaul cemetery at 1 p.m. Sunday.
