Mary Alice Hatton, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 2, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born May 16, 1932 in Garwin, daughter of James Edwin and Bertha Agnes Lohberger Aldrich. She married Bernard Dean Hatton on July 12, 1950 in Garwin. He died September 20, 2001.

Mary was a homemaker in Traer for many years and later was an L.P.N. with St. Francis Hospital which became Covenant Medical Center for 23 years, retiring in the 1990s.

Survivors include two sons, John Hatton of Waterloo and Dennis Hatton of St. Ansgar; seven daughters: Anne (Ron) Dengler of Clutier, Kay (Joe) Bergman of Cedar Falls, Debra (Robert) Hamilton of Stanley, Patty (Curt) Bohnstengel of LaPorte City, Nancy (Jeff) Dostal of Tama, Beth (Neil) Tremaine of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jane (Scott) Bowles of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Mathern of Mayer, Arizona.

Preceded in death by: a son, David Hatton; a granddaughter, Sara Bohnstengel; a son-in-law, Ronald Jaspers; three brothers; and five sisters.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Traer. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour before services on Tuesday.
