4:00‑8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service with Rosary Service at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.

Mount Olivet Cemetery with military rites performed by Waterloo AMVETS, Evansdale AMVETS, and the US Navy Honor Guard

Biography--

Adrian “Pierre” Lavallee, Jr., 84, of Waterloo, died at NewAldaya Lifescapes, on Sunday, February 14, 2016.

Pierre was born on February 3, 1932, in Webster, Mass., son of Adrian Pierre, Sr. and Vivian (Butler) Lavallee. His mother died at the age of three and he was raised by his father and stepmother, Leonie Choquette.

He married Bernadette "Bernie" Lafleur on June 25, 1955 in North Grosvenordale, CT.

Pierre worked for John Deere Co. as a mechanic and tool grinder for 23 years. He retired May 31, 1992. Following retirement, he was a French interpreter for French speaking tours at John Deere and worked for Kearns Funeral Service.

Pierre served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of American Legion Leon Burson Post #395 in Plano, Ill. and was Past Commander from 1962-63.

Pierre is survived by: his wife of Waterloo; one son, Mark (Tawnie) Lavallee of Cedar Falls; three daughters: Marlene (Davy) Krueger of Waterloo, Katherine (Gregory) Jacobsen of Hudson, WI, and Annette Nieman of Bellevue, NE; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria (Marcel) Beauregard of North Grosvenordale, CT.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his stepmother; and one sister, Pauline Cloutier.
