Died: Feb. 15, 2016Biography--
Viola Rose “Lanky” Adams, 100, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Cedar Falls Health Care Center on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born January 3, 1916 in Devon, Iowa, daughter of John and Mary Hilsman Adams. She graduated from North Washington High School in 1934 and worked at Rath Packing Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1978.
Miss Adams was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rath's Activity Club, and the Waterloo Eagles Club.
Lanky had liked playing cards and going out to dinner with her friends. She appreciated spending Thanksgiving and Christmas at the homes of her cousins and nephew. Before getting macular degeneration, Lanky had been an avid reader of fiction novels.
She is survived by a nephew, David Adams and his wife Deborah of Ankeny, Iowa. Miss Adams is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Clarence L. Adams and Gerald Adams.
