Marilyn R. (King) Roberts

December 19, 1931 - January 14, 2016

Marilyn Ruth (King) Roberts was born December 19, 1931, in Moorehead, Minnesota, daughter of Marlin and Lora (Yates) King. She graduated from West High with the Class of 1950 and spent one semester at Frances Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, IL. Marilyn was employed by Rath Packing as an office employee from 1950-1951. She then chose to be a housewife and raise her family until returning to work in 1963 as a real estate agent with Waterloo Building Company. In 1987, Marilyn married Glenden Roberts, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2008. Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge and loved and enjoyed her family.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Glenden; 1 son, Michael Hurst; and 1 step-grandson, Scott Newton. She is survived by 1 daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Hurst Willoughby of Richmond Hill, GA; 2 stepchildren: Dennis (Karen) Roberts of Cedar Falls and Joyce Newton of Waterloo; 1 sister, Vera Jean King of Madison, WI; 3 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.
