Michelle A. “Shellie” Dolan, 55, of Waterloo, died Sunday, January 10, at her home from Melanoma.

She was born January 8, 1961 in Waterloo, daughter of William Frank and Anecia Mavis Lamb Strubel. She married Jeff Dolan October 18, 1980 in Waterloo.

Shellie graduated from Columbus High School in 1979 and was employed as a manager with Century Link Telephone Company (formerly Qwest).

Survivors include her husband; a son, Russ of Waterloo; two daughters, Lauren (Reid) Woods and Megan (Cody Demaro) Dolan all of Waterloo; a grandchild on the way; her mother, Anecia Strubel of Washburn; a brother, Mike (Kathy) Strubel of LaPorte City and two sisters, Judy (John) Mills and Barb (Pat) Kayser all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 14 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Shellie enjoyed life as a mother, wife, sister, and friend. Her love will radiate through all the lives that she touched. Everyone who knows her will remember her infectious smile and how much she loved her family. Melanoma may have taken her life, but it never took her spirit.
