Steve A. Ryan (1951-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Steve A. Ryan, 64, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

He was born March 1, 1951 in Harmony, Minnesota, son of Layle and Roselyn (Hauber) Ryan.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1971, and retired from the United States Army following 16 years of service, including active duty and reserves. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls.

Steve is survived by two sisters, Pat Barta of Glendale, CO, and Rosie Sheda of Rochester, MN; and a brother, Earl Ryan of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Carolan; and a brother, Kevin Ryan.

Memorial Services: Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military Honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 Honor Guard. Visitation for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Public Television.
