Obituary for Claudia Ann Hamilton--
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Claudia Ann Jensen Hamilton, 68, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
She was born June 29, 1947, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Merrill Clayton and Lois Elaine Winslow Jensen. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Elementary Education. She married Duane Lee Hamilton June 6, 1968 in Cedar Falls.
Claudia taught at Black Hawk Elementary School in Waterloo from 1971-73, helped in the office of her husband’s accounting firm, Duane L. Hamilton Accountant from 1978-2001, was a substitute teacher in the metro area from 1995-2001, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Amy Ann (Tim) Kangas of Waverly and Sarah Lee Breuer of Eldridge; son, Jack Duane Hamilton of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Linnea and Joseph Kangas; a sister, Sandra Ellefson of Bondurant; a sister-in-law, Doris (John) Lang of Cedar Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Fredsville Lutheran Church, with interment in the church cemetery, both in rural Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls and also one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Fredsville Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, NewAldaya Chapel Fund, Cedar Valley Hospice, Cedar Falls Community Schools Foundation, or the family. Claudia’s greatest joy throughout her marriage was being a homemaker and her love of family.
