May Marie Bray
August 14, 1920 - December 26, 2015
May Marie Bray passed away peacefully December 26 at age 95 in Des Moines.
May was born in Waterloo, Iowa on August 14, 1920 to Fred and Eva Neipert. May was baptized at Immanuel Church in 1920 and remained a faithful servant to that church for 95 years until moving to Des Moines in 2015.
May graduated from East High in 1938. In 1941 she married Russell Bray. They were married for 53 years until Russell’s death in 1994.
May worked at Black Hawk Electrical for 31 years as Office Manager and Treasurer.
May and Russell had one son Randall (Peg). May is also survived by two grandchildren, Chris Bray and Sara (Todd) Carlson; and by two great-granddaughters, Emily and Katie Carlson, all of Clive, Iowa.
May’s life centered on her church, baking holiday cookies for her family for over 70 years, and playing any and all games with her precious great granddaughters, Emily and Katie. May brought much joy and friendship to her many friends throughout her life.
Visitation will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 1024 West 8th Street, Waterloo on December 30 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by May’s funeral at 11:00.
