Services: Will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel.

Cemetery:
Burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail.

may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

Biography--

David Lee Hora, 56, of Waterloo, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born September 1, 1959 in Boone the son of Donald and Pauline (Hoenschell) Hora. He was a 1977 graduate of Boone High School. He married Carol J. Eckart on December 8, 1989 in Waterloo.

He served in the U.S. Navy and then the U.S. Army, serving from 1977 until his retirement in 2001. He owned and operated West Side Engine Clinic in Waterloo. He currently worked as a Lead for Ferguson Distribution. He was an Area Representative for the Voice of the Martyrs, enjoyed reading the bible, gardening and working on small engines. David and Carol spent countless hours together from the day they met, they were inseparable in love.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Waterloo; his mother, Pauline Hora of Boone and one brother, Jeff (Carol) Hora of Washington; a brother-in-law, David (Cathy) Eckart of Shakopee, MN; two nieces, Sarah and Jennifer a nephew, Jeffrey; and honorary “daughter,” Sabrina (Justin) DeHoet and children.

Preceded in death by: his father.
