Thomas J. Flessner, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Center in Cedar Falls.

He was born July 30, 1934 in Wellsburg, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Neola (Haack) Flessner. Thomas married Marcella “Sally” Huisman on September 14, 1956 at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2006. Thomas was a 1952 graduate of Wellsburg High School and worked as an electric technician for Iowa Public Service (IPS) for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, John (Cheryl) Flessner of Wellsburg and Brent (Brenda) Flessner of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Vogelman of El Dorado, Kansas and Nicholas (Katie) Flessner of Everett, Washington, and one sister, Nola Meester of Grundy Center, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Services will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial at Wellsburg Reformed Church Cemetery in Wellsburg. Visitation will be Monday, and one hour before the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
