Biography

Nancy Ann Gaard, 82, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 1, 1932, in Radcliffe, Iowa, the daughter of Lonnie and Gretchen (Lenning) Mason. Nancy married Hubert C. Gaard on November 11, 1951 in Radcliffe. She was a 1950 graduate of Radcliffe High School and worked in sales at Hallmark in Cedar Falls for many years, retiring in 2008.

Survivors include her husband, Hubert C. Gaard, of Cedar Falls; one son, Jay (Barb) Gaard, of Cedar Falls; and two special grandchildren, Emily Ann and Holly Jo Gaard, of Washington, D.C.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jeffrey Gaard, and one brother, Joe Mason.

Services will be Thursday, February 26, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
