Laura W. Siemens, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 13, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

Laura was born December 14, 1917, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of August F. and Rebecka (Andorf) Engel. She married Marvin F. Wulf December 30, 1936, at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hudson, Iowa, and he preceded her in death November 29, 1985. She married Curtis Siemens July 16, 1989, at Zion Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death September 11, 1993.

Laura is survived by one daughter, Mary (Harlan) Smith of Hudson; two sons, Leonard (Linda) Wulf of Waterloo and Allan (Monica) Wulf of Reinbeck; a daughter in law, Dolores Wulf of Cedar Falls; two step-sons, Robert (Barbara) Siemens of Cedar Falls, and Keith Siemens of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Cindy Paige, Sarah Strong, Rebecca (Ryan) Uhlenhopp, and Nathan (Betsy) Smith; 11 great-grandchildren, Kelly Paige, Katie (Tim) Robinson, Kari Paige, Travis Krum, Tyler Krum, Kayla Krum, Lillian Strong, Eric Uhlenhopp, Everett Uhlenhopp, Nora Smith, and Brogan Smith; four great-great-grandchildren, Payton Krum, Mark Krum, Jayden Krum and Gavin Krum, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marvin F. Wulf and Curtis W. Siemens; one son, James Wulf; six sisters, Matilda Gutknecht, Louise Gutknecht, Alma Waltmann, Augusta Stender, Martha Engel and Esther Engel; two brothers, Ernest Engel and Paul Engel, and two grandsons, Aaron Smith and Adam Smith.

Laura was born to the farm life and became a farm wife and help mate to her husband, Marvin Wulf. She was actively involved in the day to day work in the fields and caring for the farm animals. She raised four children who were a great joy to her. She battled polio, hepatitis, cancer two times, a broken hip and many other illnesses throughout her lifetime. She was always able to regain her strength and bounce back.

She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hudson and had a great faith in God that carried her through all of her illnesses. She was an accomplished seamstress and crocheted until her death. She sewed quilts, dresses, blouses and utility bags. She crocheted intricate doilies in her younger days and continued crocheting winter scarves that were donated to school children. She was a kind, caring, and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family was her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Hudson. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.
