Doris Rae Wilson, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.

She was born November 29, 1918 in rural Danville, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Aletha (Boner) Williams. Doris married Duane L. Wilson on August 24, 1941 in Danville. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1979.

Doris was a 1936 graduate of Danville High School and received secretarial training at the College of Commerce in Burlington, Iowa. She was the secretary at Schramm Department Store in Burlington, co-owner of Wilsons Grocery Store in Danville, and was the secretary at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, until her retirement in 1987. She was the former church treasurer, and was a member of a church circle and the church quilting group. Doris was also past matron of the Danville Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Clint) Hankins, of Waterloo; two sons, Craig Wilson of Waterloo and Clint (Jane) Wilson of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Daniel (Lisa) Wood of Independence, Iowa, Dusty (Malinda) Wood of La Porte City, Iowa and Duane (Maria) Wilson of Cedar Falls; five great grandchildren, Mason, Justin, Tate and Conner Wood and Chase Wilson, and a sister, Mary Shelledy, of New London, Iowa.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, Max Williams and a sister, Sarah Williams.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Long Creek Methodist Cemetery near Danville. Visitation will be 4—6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, and one hour before service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
