James "Jim" Sink

November 19, 1943 - July 30, 2015

Biography--

James “Jim” Harold Sink, 71, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

He was born November 19, 1943 in Wabash, Indiana, the son of Clyde and Marcella (Miller) Sink. Jim married Vicki Carey on September 10, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. Jim was a graduate of Waterloo Columbus High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1964. He worked at John Deere & Company in Waterloo for 41 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vicki Sink, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Lincoln (Tammy) Sink of Cedar Falls and Gabe (Shannon) Sink of Waukee, Iowa; four daughters, Jennifer (Lyle) Trent of Waterloo, Audie (Jim) Vowels of Waverly, Iowa and Victoria (Curt) Nagl and Holly (Jeff) Mastin, both of Waterloo; twenty-three grandchildren; four brothers, Tom (Karen) Sink of Cedar Falls, Dan Sink of Waterloo, Joe (Mary) Sink of Raymond, Iowa and David Sink of Waterloo, and six sisters, Susan (David) Douglas of Waterloo, Carol (Bob) Goodrich of Hayward, Wisconsin, Kathy (Ray) Moore of Waterloo, Barbara (Jim) Burns of Waterloo, Betsy (Dan) McDougall of Dunkerton and Jody (Jim) Sessions of Yuma, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Jamie Sink; his sister-in-law, Linda Sink, and a granddaughter, Hope Nagl.

Services will be Monday, August 3, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 2, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 3:00 p.m. Rosary Service and a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Lantern of Hope. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
