Erwin Stickfort

March 9, 1931 - October 28, 2015

Erwin Dale Stickfort, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born March 9, 1931 in Fairfield Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the son of William and Helen (Knock) Stickfort. Erwin graduated from Grundy Center High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Janice Kregel on December 24, 1952 in Garnavillo, Iowa. Erwin started Stickfort Electric in 1957.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Stickfort, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Tom (Sue) Stickfort, Randy (Doriece) Stickfort, and Jaryl Stickfort, all of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Julie Brook, of Marion, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Shad (Jillian) Brook, Tami (Travis) Harbaugh, Heather (Joe) Brandt, Sarah Stickfort, Rebekah Stickfort, Autumn (Todd) Penz, Skyller Stickfort, Dakota (Zach) Homontowski, and Nate Stickfort; nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Darlene Mulder, of Grundy Center.

Erwin was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Evan John Brandt; two sisters, Norma and Doris Stickfort and one brother, Willis Stickfort.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—8:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the Gospel Hall. Memorials may be directed to the family.
