Biography--

David S. Brown, 78, of Waterloo died Sunday December 7, 2014 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer of natural causes.

He was born May 25, 1936 in Waterloo the son of Glen and Eva (Leckington) Brown. David married Carol Mae Hansen on June 10, 1956, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He worked at John Deere engine works for 43 years, retiring in 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Waterloo; three sons: Steven (Lou Ann) Brown of La Porte City, Brian (Denise) Brown of Monrovia, Indiana, and Mark (Brenda) Brown of Grundy Center; one daughter, Renae (Lance) Golly of Waverly; 13 grandchildren: Kevin Sells, Kylee Sells, Rachel (Josh) Blough, Hannah (Dan) Cline, Karen Brown, Breanna Brown, Brett Wallace, Marissa Brown, Brianna Brown, Gabriel Golly, Autumn Golly, Grace Golly and Ashlynn Golly; mother-in-law Blanche Hansen of Waterloo, and one son-in-law, Tim Sells of Dysart.

David was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sells; his parents; three brothers Glen “Erwin”, Merle, and Delmer Brown; and three sisters Vivian Taylor, Melba Buttgen, and Mona Megginson.
