Biography--

John W. Anderson, 88, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at ABCM Rehab Center East Campus in Independence.

He was born June 7, 1926 in Waterloo the son of Gus and Grace (Teare) Anderson. John married Jean Scarborough on October 30, 1954 in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on September 15, 1999.

He worked Construction for many years and retired March 1, 1992 from Waterloo Industries after 27 years of service.

He is survived by a son, Rick (Mary) Anderson of Waterloo; a daughter Patty (Pete) Anderson of Jesup; two daughters-in-law, Judy of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Debbie of Waterloo; son-in-law, Kevin Nie of Independence, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Terry and John Anderson, Jr; a daughter, Beckie Nie; a son-in-law, Brian Thorson; three sisters, Elizabeth Taylor, Edith Fergeman, and Ruby Eggers; and three brothers, Warner Anderson and two infant boys.
