Monday at La Porte City Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church

Biography--

Brenda Anne Sammons, 53, of Washburn, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born March 28, 1961 in Waterloo the daughter of Elston and Gladys (Kuker) Peters. She was a 1979 graduate of Waterloo West High School. She married Jeff Sammons on September 26, 1981 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washburn.

She worked for the last 13 years as a Medical Claims Specialist for VGM in Waterloo. She was very active in Boy Scouts of America.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Jeff of Washburn; a son Keith Sammons of Waterloo; her parents, Elston and Gladys Peters of Waterloo; a brother, Bruce (Jennifer) Peters of Eagan, Minnesota, and a large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Bertha Peters and maternal grandparents, Erwin and Ida Mae Kuker.
