Visitation:
Sunday, February 15, 2015, and an hour prior to the services on Monday at the Funeral Home.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo

Biography--

Joan K. Tiedt, age 60, of Waterloo, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at her home.

She was born May 3, 1954 in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Merwin W. and Viola R. Ganske Tiedt. Joan graduated from Waterloo West High School with the Class of 1972 and earned an associate’s degree in technology from A.I.B.

Joan was employed by John Deere and Co. for more than 20 years, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing. Joan was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for others. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include a son, Kevin (Kim) Tiedt of Jesup; a granddaughter, Kalli Tiedt; three brothers: Allen Tiedt of Pleasant Hill, California, Jerald (Mary Ann) Tiedt of Raymond, Iowa, and Larry Tiedt of Waterloo; a sister, Barbara (Mike) Roethler of Urbandale, Iowa; a nephew, Chad Roethler and four nieces: Jodi Driscoll, Staci Tiedt, Emily Williams and Tiffany Tiedt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law Choe Tiedt.
