Biography--

Ella Belle Pettengill, 81, of Beaconsfield, formerly of La Porte City, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. She was born July 19, 1933 in Davis City, Iowa the daughter of Jesse James and Roberta (Dunbar) Burrell. She married LeMar F. Pettengill on June 20, 1949 in Knoxville; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2012.

She is survived by four sons: Chris (Bridget) of Goodyear, AZ, Galen (Bobbie) & Raymond all of La Porte City, Ron of Logansport, IN; two daughters, Connie (Mike) Neessen of Beaconsfield, Sis (Rob) Leeper of Eunice, NM; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Jenny Gray of Evansdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Ovid, Jim and Francis Burrell and her dog Spike.

Ella and LeMar owned and operated LeMar’s Welding & Repair for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. After their retirement they moved to Beaconsfield. She enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida with LeMar, spending time with her family and her dog Spike, her flowers and going to lunch with Connie.
