Visitation:
Monday, April 27, 2015 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, 3146 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the nursing home chapel.

Biography--

Kenneth A. “Kenny” Vaughan, age 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.

He was born August 27, 1926 in Miller County, near Eldon, Missouri the son of Clyde Edward and Pearl Opal Uber Vaughan. Kenny was united in marriage with Betty Jean Young on May 5, 1950 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Kenny was a machinist and repairman at John Deere and Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1983. Kenny said he was busier after he retired with his projects and many travels.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, originally of Waterloo and currently of Cedar Falls, a daughter, Pamela “Penny” (Wayne) Payeur of Ankeny, IA; two grandsons, Wesley Payeur of Death Valley, CA. and William (Trish) Payeur of Ostego, MN; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Kahlan and Reid; and a niece, Carol Taber of St. Paul, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and his wife, Gaylord and Ruth Vaughan; a sister and her husband, Helen and Joe Shackelford; and a nephew, James Vaughan.

“Since Kenny hated ties, there is no need to wear one to his funeral. His family would like to thank the staff at NewAldaya Lifescapes and Unity Point Hospice for their loving care.”
