Biography--

Dorothy Mae Lemons, 68, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of esophageal cancer.

She was born January 12, 1947 in Pine River, Minnesota, the daughter of Alfred and Doris (Chamberlain) Brant. She was a 1966 graduate of Waterloo West High School.

She married James F. Lemons on September 3, 1966 in Cedar Falls.

Dorothy worked as a desk clerk for 19 years at the Exel Inn in Waterloo. She also worked as the volunteer coordinator for the Waterloo School District for many years.

She is survived by her husband, James F. of Waterloo; one son, James G. (Kimberly) Lemons of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; one daughter, Teresa (Todd) Bracken of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Katlyn, and Bradley; one sister, Alice (Harold) Simengaard of Portland, North Dakota; three stepbrothers, Dale (Charlotte) Hurley of Des Moines, Bill (Sherry) Hurley of East Bethel, Minnesota, and Jim (Kathy) Hurley of California; and her stepmother, Ruth Brant of Raymond.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
