Biography--

Deborah “Deb” Lee Schons, 62 of Elk Run Heights, died at her home after a fall on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

She was born in Waterloo on March 19, 1953, the daughter of Thomas E. and Nancy I. (Carothers) Meiser.

Deb graduated from Waterloo East High school and attended Nursing School at Marshalltown Nursing School. She also attended the University of Northern Iowa with a concentration in Social Work.

She married Jack Schons, and later they divorced. Deb worked as a RN at Covenant Medical Center until 1992. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Evansdale.

She is survived by a son, Nicholas Schons of Washington D.C; her mother, Nancy (John) Meiser Volbruck of Raymond; a sister, Shellie (Matt) French of Waterloo; a brother, Mike (Stormy) Meiser of Waterloo; and by four nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in deawth by a son, Brandon Schons; and by her father, Thomas Meiser.
