Biography--

Betty J. Vaughan, 86, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at NewAldaya Lifescapes. She was born September 19, 1928 in Manchester the daughter of Lloyd F. and Helen O. (Anderson) Young. Betty was a graduate of Waterloo East High School in 1947. She married Kenneth A. Vaughan on May 5, 1950 at St. Paul Methodist Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on April 25, 2015.

She worked as a Foreman’s Clerk for John Deere Company, retiring after 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and also loved to bowl on the John Deere Women’s League.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela “Penny” (Wayne) Payeur of Ankeny; two grandsons, Wesley Payeur of Death Valley, CA, William (Trish) Payeur of Otsego, MN; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Kahlan and Reid; one sister, Geraldine (George) Wagner of Cedar Falls; one brother, Lloyd “Sam” (Diane) Young of Las Cruces, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband and two sisters, Shirley Borcherding and Beverly Jensen.

Betty’s family would like to thank the Unity Point Hospice and NewAldaya Lifescapes Family for their loving care.
