Biography--

William A. "Bill" O'Connor, 76, of La Porte City, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Unity Point Health Allen Hospital from chronic lung disease.

He was born September 18, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of William H. and Eva (Cameron) O'Connor. He graduated from Orange High School. He married Sharon Thomsen on January 17, 1959 in Washburn.

Bill worked at John Deere for 40 years, retiring in 2003.

Survived by: his wife Sharon of La Porte City; one son Randy (Cindy) O'Connor of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Cristi (Mike) Robbins, Kelly O'Connor all of Phoenix, Arizona; two great-grandsons, Michael and Brandon Robbins of Phoenix, AZ; one brother Dick (Carol) O'Connor of Cedar Rapids; a nephew, Kevin O'Connor; two nieces, Laurel (Jon) Skinner and Lyndy (BJ) Bruck; two great nieces, Miranda Skinner and Sapphire Sprostan; great nephew, Preston Bruck and brother-in-law Allan Cerwinske of Rockford.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a sister-in-law, Nancy Cerwinske; an infant niece Tara Cerwinske and a nephew Terry O'Connor.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
