Biography--

Shannon F. “Pudge” Davis, 79, of La Porte City, passed Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home of cancer.

He was born February 14, 1936 in La Porte City the son of Shannon L. and Marian (Kline) Davis. He married Marilyn Bonorden on February 18, 1955 in Jubilee, Iowa.

He worked as a machinist for John Deere for 24 years, retiring on June 30, 1998. He also drove semi for several years. Pudge was a volunteer at the La Porte City Senior Center where he helped deliver meals.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of La Porte City; three daughters: Ralette Davis, Sheri (Jim) Steffen, Penny Grigg all of La Porte City; three sons: Scott (Rebecca), Tony (Tara), Jeff (Heather) Davis all of La Porte City; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters: Phyllis Foster of La Porte City, Leslie (Leonard) Mullinex of Mt. Auburn and Ruthie (Chad) Howrey of Pinetop, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Joyce Hilton of Casa Grande, Arizona; and one brother-in-law, Darel Timson, of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and by three sisters: JoAnn Grove, Mary Francis “Dottie” Weich and Sharon Timson.
