Dale O. Petersen, age 81, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.
He was born August 24, 1934, on a farm near Alden, Iowa, the son of Otto Everett and Alma Pearl Etnier Petersen. Dale was united in marriage with Barbara Jean Nelson on April 7, 1956 in Waterloo.
Dale worked as an electrician for John Deere and Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1994. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Korean War from July 1, 1952 until his honorable discharge on June 30, 1955. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Waterloo; a daughter, Dawn (Don) Browne of Polk City, Iowa; a son, Duane (Bobbi) Petersen of Dike, Iowa; six grandchildren: Cameron and Mackenzie Browne, and Baylee, Sydney, Payton and Jadyn Petersen; and a brother, William Petersen of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gale Petersen.
