Milo G. Christiason was born September 19, 1923, son of John and Mabel (Chisel) Christiason. Milo graduated from Waterloo West High School in January, 1942, and went to work for North American Aviation Inc. in Kansas City, where he met and married Marian Hodgin on October 31, 1942. Milo served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 – 1945.

The couple returned to Waterloo after Milo’s military service, and he was employed by Wonder Bread Bakery for several months. He then enjoyed a 40 year career with Jens Olesen & Sons Construction Co., where he served as Office Manager and Vice President. He was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was an active member of Cedarloo Sertoma Club, Waterloo Diplomats, Waterloo Junior Chamber, and served on the Board of Adults Inc./Key 7.

Milo and Marian enjoyed extensive world travel. They spent 24 years in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas as “Winter Texans” and loved every moment there!

Milo is survived by his wife; two daughters, Michele (Dennis) McFarlane of Cedar Falls and Marlys Christiason of Firestone, Colorado; one son, Michael (Vicky) of Cedar Falls; grandchildren: Jeff (Jackie) McFarlane, Lisa (Mark) Rolinger, Kyle (Jen) Christiason, Kirsten Kane, Matt (Kathe Livingston) Lloyd, Kelley (Mike) Zwisler, Mike (Emily) Lloyd; and 13 great-grandchildren. Milo was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathleen Christiason, Margaret Morris, and LaVonne (Pat) Baseler; and brother, Marvin Jones.

Milo will be remembered as one of the kindest, most gentle men you could ever meet. No one was a stranger to Milo once they had met. He was a VERY special person!!!

Memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Western Home Foundation.
