Kim Marie Neuendorf
February 12, 1958 to April 6, 2015
Kim Marie Neuendorf was born February 12, 1958 in Waterloo: the daughter of Leo and Patricia (Johnson) Miller. She graduated from Waterloo East High School with the class of 1975. Kim then attended Pitze’s School of Hair Design.
Kim was united in marriage to Harlan Neuendorf on September 2, 1978, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She worked at Kmart for many years. She then went to work at Principal Financial Group until 2008, where she worked as a Pension Technician. Kim’s top priorities were her family and her faith. She enjoyed vacationing, camping, boating and loved the water. Kim served on church committees and sang in the choir. She was a selfless person, always putting others first.
Kim was a four time cancer survivor and started attending Breast Cancer support groups. Kim continued the meetings just to be there for all the other women to encourage them and talk to them on what to expect during treatments.
Kim passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from complications of cancer at the age of 57.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Miller.
Kim is survived by her husband Harlan of Waterloo; two daughters: Tiffany and Lacey Neuendorf, both of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren: Isabella and Carter Hollaway; her mother, Patty Johnson of Iowa Falls; three brothers: Justin “JJ” (Danielle) Johnson of Waterloo, Rick (Michelle) Miller of Urbandale and Rod (Brenda) Amos of Johnston and three sisters: Tara (Clint) Freeseman of Hampton, Rhonda Miller of Ankeny and Sharon Meyer-Adams of Waterloo. Kim will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends and those she supported and encouraged.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
