James L. "Jim" Wire, 63, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at Ravenwood Specialty Care Sunday, November 8, 2015 from complications from surgery.

Jim was born December 2, 1951 in Freeport, IL the son of Leslie and Heloise Klentz Wire. He married Cynthia Ewig in 1978 in Cedar Rapids.

Jim graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton, IL; and from Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. He worked or Rockwell Collins for 12 years then became an Instructor at Hawkeye Community College.

Survivors include his wife Cynthia of Waterloo; a daughter Jennifer (Grant) Robbins of Manchester; a son David Wire of Golden, Colorado, a step daughter Lori (Rob) Comes of Miami of Florida. He is also survived by his mother of Waterloo; two grandchildren: Gabe and Remy Robins; three step grandchildren: Josh, Amber, and Nick Comes.

He is preceded in death by his father and a sister Janis Wire.
