Dorothy A. Maifeld (1933-2014)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Dorothy A. Maifeld, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born July 6, 1933, in Aredale, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Marie (Oltman) Folkers. She married Donald R. Maifeld on October 5, 1952, in Greene, Iowa. He died December 27, 2006.

She graduated from Greene High School. She and her husband farmed and owned and operated Maifeld Electronics, where she worked as secretary and in sales for over 30 years. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and donating items to various charities and organizations, including prayer shawls.

She is survived by three daughters: Cynthia (Luis) Silva of Lake Worth, FL, Teresa (Rick Joachim) Maifeld of Cedar Falls, and Marcia Maifeld of Dubuque; two sons, Gregory Maifeld and Ronnie Maifeld, both of Denver; and three grandchildren: Makaela, Ariane and Joseph.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Folkers and a sister, Betty Erne.
