Obituary for Holly L. Kruger

DIKE, IOWA - Holly L. Kruger, 65, of Dike, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

She was born August 3, 1949, in Marshalltown, daughter of Dr. Dale and Jeane (Sprow) Harris. She married Dennis Kruger on May 23, 1980 in Marshalltown.

Holly graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1967 and earned her BA in Fashion Merchandising from Iowa State in 1971. After college she went on to manage a clothing boutique before dedicating some years to being a stay at home mom. She later returned to work as a customer service specialist with Kruger Seed until retiring last September.

Holly was an active member of the church, the community and life all around. She was a member of Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, PEO, TTT and KKG. She also was involved in Relay for Life and Hospice; throughout her life and after surviving cancer in 1996, she always looked to support others in tough times. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, reading, cats and spending time with family and friends. Holly was kind hearted with a great sense of humor whose company was enjoyed by all.

She was survived by her husband, Dennis of Dike; three daughters: Stacy Kruger of Denver, Colorado, Heidi Kruger of Barcelona, Spain, and Kim Kruger of Wimberley, Texas; one son, Kurt (Bonnie) Kruger of rural Parkersburg; her mother, Jeane Knapp of Cedar Falls; a brother, Br Patrick Harris, OSB of Omaha, Nebraska, and four grandchildren, Jacob Bear, Jessica Liliana Marie, Kody (Vanessa) Kruger, and Klay Kruger.

She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Dale Harris; her son, Philip Kruger; daughter-in-law, Jodi (Anderson) Kruger; and brother, Nick Harris.

Services will be held Monday at Fredsville Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls, with burial in the Fredsville Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund

Holly was a beautiful person who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed.
