Obituary for Jane O. Dargan

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Jane O. Dargan, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.

She was born November 27, 1921, in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Lee Washington and Lena Clara Funk Bowen. She married Albert Marks September 6, 1940 in New Hartford. He died December 23, 1947. She then married Francis Dargan September 28, 1951 in Nashua. He died March 14, 1981.
Jane graduated from New Hartford High School in 1939 and was a homemaker and farm wife.

Survived by: three sons, Jimmy (Wanda) Marks of Plainfield, and Michael J. (Cherie) Dargan, Frank P. Dargan, both of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Judy (Charlie) Melcher-Schults of Parkersburg and Bonne (Gerry) Wurtzel of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and long-time friend, Ted Turner of Waterloo.

Preceded by: one brother, Leroy Bowen; one sister, Genevieve Dawson; and son-in-law, Allen Melcher.

Services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Richardson Funeral Service, with interment in the Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
