Dale D. Holmes (1933-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Dale D. Holmes, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

He was born July 3, 1933, in Rowley, Iowa, son of Winfield D. and Neva (Gosse) Holmes. He married Ardeth A. Harden on March 28, 1953 in Winterset, Iowa.

Mr. Holmes farmed, worked at Young Lumber Yard, and retired as a welder from John Deere.

He is survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; three daughters: Becky Quistorff and Debi Puls, both of Waterloo and Roxanne Holmes of Aurora, Colorado; one son, Craig Holmes of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Barghahn of Waterloo; and a brother, Delwyn (Linda) Holmes of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Schwake and Leanore McFee; and by a brother, Delos Holmes.

Memorial Services: Saturday, August 22, at Faith Lutheran Church in Waterloo with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.
