Richard J. "Torgie" Torgerson, 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of La Crosse, Wisconsin, died at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital, on Sunday, October 25, 2015, of natural causes.
Richard was born on October 6, 1931, in Ferryville, Wisc., the son of Richard and Pearl Warren Torgerson.
He graduated from Logan High School in La Crosse.
Richard married Bonnie B. Kanable, on May 16, 1953 in Caledonia, Minnesota. He worked as a machinist at John Deere.
Survived by: his wife, Bonnie Torgerson of Waterloo; children, Debra Torgerson, Linda (Steve) Kohlmeyer, Steven Torgerson, Judy Dumire, Donald Torgerson, Laurie (Gunner) Hattrup, Bruce (Tina) Torgerson, and Melissa (Doyle) MacMahon all of Waterloo; siblings, Robert, Rue, Allen, Peter, Norma, Larry, Rose, and David; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and the “Ninth Kid,” Robin.
Preceded in death by: parents; a sister, Elsie; and a brother, Roger.
