Barbara Jean Shinstine

March 31, 1958 - November 2, 2014

Barbara Jean Shinstine, 56, died Sunday, November 2 at her home of natural causes.

She was born March 31, 1958 in Waterloo, daughter of Clarence C. and Lucille Elizabeth Vohsman Shinstine.

Barb graduated from River Hills School. She worked at Goodwill Industries and North Star Services.

She is survived by two brothers, Jim Shinstine of Waterloo and Larry (Angie) Shinstine of Walla Walla, Wash.; a niece, Sarah M. Shinstine of Walla Walla, Wash.; a family friend, Sally Walker of Waterloo; her extended family of residents at the group home; the staff at Exceptional Persons Inc. and North Star Community Services.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be Wednesday, November 5, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Wednesday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Exceptional Persons Inc. and Cedar Valley Hospice.
