James Vernon Fisher

September 22, 1942 - November 28, 2014

James “Jim” Vernon Fisher, 72, died Friday, November 28, 2014, at Unity Pointe Allen Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, of natural causes.

He was born September 22, 1942 in Garrison, the son of Vernon L. and Rhuella Pavey Fisher. He married Victoria Card and they were later divorced.

James graduated from Garrison High School in 1960. He retired from John Deere Tractor Mfg. Co. after working twenty-eight years in heat treat. He was also an over the road truck driver.

He is survived by a son, James V. “Jay” Fisher, Jr. of Waterloo; two daughters, Tracey Fisher of Brandon and Jennifer Neebil of Waterloo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his significant other, Anna Sparks of Waterloo; two brothers, Bob (Shelley) Schmidt of Waterloo, Tom (Karen) Schmidt of Waterloo; three sisters, Sandra Burk of Waterloo, Karen (Pete) Lovell of Wymore, Neb. and Caryl Schmidt of Portland, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family directed memorial services will be on Saturday, December 6, at the Eagles Club at 202 East 1st St., Waterloo. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. is assisting the family.
