Funeral services for Mrs. Herman D. Leighty, 57, of 1066 Prospect Blvd., will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church here with Dr. Charles Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call, at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home until noon Thursday. The casket.will not be opened at the church. Mrs Leighty died at her home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Born Sept. 7, 1913 in Bloomington, Ill., she was the daughter of William and Myrtle Wilcox Gibson. She married Herman Leighty June 15, 1941, at La Salle, Ill. She attended
Drake University and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1937, later teaching in the Dunkerton school district

She was a member of PEO and past president of the Women's Society of the First Congregational Church, of which she was a member.

Survivors include her husband; a son William C. graduate student at Stanford University; a daughter, Mrs Robert F. Justis, Denver, Colo, two brothers, Dr. John W Gibson, Port Isabel, Tex., and Robert W. Gibson of Wes Hartford, Conn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends who wish, may give memorials to the First Congregational Church.

Her husband Herman's obit says he married Marjorie Jane Gibson June 15, 1941, in LaSalle, IL.
