Kimberly Rae “Kim” Westphal, 56, died Thursday, September 17, at her home.

She was born February 23, 1959 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Ronald N. and Donna M. Garwood Wirtz. She married Wayne Westphal on September 27, 1980 in Waterloo.

Kim was a Para educator in the Waterloo School System.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, Donna Wirtz of Evansdale; a son, Ronald (Ashley) Westphal of Evansdale; two daughters, Darby (Wayne Carrier) of Evansdale and Carmen (Scott) Starr of Wellsburg; seven grandchildren, Austin, Chase, Alana, Jerod, Jake, Anabelle and Jersey; a great-grandchild, Madelyn; three sisters, Teri (Mike) Kastli and Debra (Greg) Azbill of Waterloo, Stephanie Wirtz of Vandalia, Mo; a brother, Ronald Wirtz of Vandalia, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; paternal and maternal grandparents.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with inurnment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and will continue for 1 hour preceding services on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
