Donald John Rubino

August 23, 1957 - April 18, 2015

Donald John Rubino, 57, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 18, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born August 23, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of John and Darlene Green Rubino. He married Deborah Tipton in Milan, Missouri, and she died in 2007.

Donald attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Central High School. He was employed at M.A.A.C.O doing auto body repair, then moved to Milan where he continued auto body work. After returning to Waterloo he spent his time enjoying his hobbies of hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: a daughter, Kimberly Rubino of Urbandale; his father, John of Dunkerton; a grandchild, Joshua Rubino; a brother, Nick (Patty) Rubino of La Porte City; a sister, Kim (Auke Schotanus) Rubino of Ferryville, Wisc.

Preceded in death by: his mother; a brother, Vince Rubino; a daughter, Kay Marie Rubino in infancy; a step-son, Joshua Truitt.

Family Directed Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, JUNE 6, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with inurnment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Public visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers: memorials may be directed to the family.

Don loved to spend time hunting and fishing.
