Death: May 20, 2015Mildred M. Cree, 91, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 20, at Friendship Village Medical Center.
She was born April 27, 1924, in Lamont, the daughter of George and Anna Karsten Helms. She married John Owen Cree on January 17, 1945, in Lamont and he died February 14, 2000. Mildred was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Brian (Jennifer) Cree of Littleton, Colorado; two daughters, Karen Miller of Gilbert, Arizona, and Kathy (Dr. Joe) Draude of Orange Park, Florida; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: George Helms, Bernie Helms, and Albert Helms; four sisters: Della Rule, Lilly Wessels, Freida Dozark, and Margaret Steele.
Services: 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 27, at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in St. Albert’s Cemetery, Lamont. Public visitation from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4 P.M. Catholic Daughter’s of the Americas rosary and 7 P.M. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Edward Church.
