Mark Duane Shepard, 63, of Dunedin, Fla, formerly of Waterloo, died June 7 at his home.
He was born August 21, 1951 in Waterloo, son of Charles E. and Marjorie C. Rolfes Shepard.
Mark graduated from East High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Kathleen Walters in Florida and they were later divorced. He worked construction in Waterloo and in Florida. He also worked food service at “The Galley Pizza” and did office cleaning, both in Florida.
He is survived by a daughter, Brittany; two granddaughters, Skylar and Gwen; three step-sons, Amos, Josh and Dan; two sisters, Linda (Don) Sullivan and Deanne (Jeff Hendershot) Shepard both of Waterloo; a brother, David Shepard of Waterloo; several aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Percy L. and Dorothy Shepard; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Katherine Rolfes; his parents; seven uncles; two aunts and an infant cousin.
Memorial Services will be Friday, June 26, 2015, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19, Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour preceding services on Friday.
