Louis A. Clancy

June 14, 1925 - June 8, 2015

Louis A. Clancy, 89, of Waterloo died Monday, June 8 at New Aldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls where he had resided for only two days.

He was born June 14, 1925 in Jamestown, Mo. son of Thomas and Annie Franken Clancy. He married Florence Swearingen October 11, 1947. She died April 22, 2004.

Louis was employed with John Deere for 35 years. He worked in various departments throughout his career, and was an inspector when he retired in October 1983. He was an Army Air Corp veteran, serving with the military police.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Clancy of Oakland, Calif. and Rod (Jamie) Clancy of Waterloo; a daughter, Linda Laylin of Cedar Falls; three granddaughters, Julie (Kevin) Hinders of Cedar Falls, Kayla and Sarah Clancy of Waterloo and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Bryce Hinders.

Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19, Evansdale Amvets Post 31 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4-7 pm Sunday at the funeral home and for an hour before services
