Madaliene M. Cookinham

April 29, 1935 - August 19, 2015

Madaliene M. Cookinham, 80, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2015 surrounded by family.

She was born April 29, 1935, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, daughter of Harold and Thelma Fitkin Warner. She married Paul I. Cookinham in Austin, Minnesota.

They lived in Waterloo, Iowa, for 55 years, where they raised their family. They moved to North Carolina in 2008 to live with their daughter and family.

Madalien was part-owner of two tea rooms in Waterloo, Mrs. Beasley’s and Mrs. Beasley’s Too.

Madaliene and Paul were longtime members at Burton Ave. Baptist Church.

Survivors include: a daughter, Peggy (Mike) Schriever of Concord, N.C.; three sons, Paul of Waterloo, Joseph of Nixa, Mo. and Chad (LaTasha) of Arnolds Park, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, James, Nathan, Hannah, Patricia, Evan, Anna, Joshua, Nicholas, Rachel, Ariel, Trevor and Jozlyn; 4 great-grandchildren, Jamison, Zoe, Charlotte and soon to be born Zelda;

Preceded in death by: her husband; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Cookinham; one brother, Dallas Warner, three sisters, Betty Bell, Garoldine Bell, Donna Cookinham.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at Burton Ave. Baptist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Public visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 28 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
