Biography

Micheal J. "Mike" Meier, 48, of Waterloo, died at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Wednesday, December 31, 2014, following a brain aneurysm.

Mike was born May 4, 1966, in Waterloo, the son of John and Sharyn Wilson Meier. Mike grew up in Waterloo and Mike graduated from West High School in 1984. He met Tammy Buchan in 1988 when they both worked at Pizza Hut, they married August 11, 1990 in Waterloo. Mike worked at several placed, when back to school and received a degree as a Machinist and in Industrial Management. He had worked as a machinist at John Deere Engine Works.

Mike was a loving dad and dove head first into whatever Emily and Adam were involved in. Recently he became a supporter and booster for the West High School ROTC program. These students became like family joining his children, family and 20 nieces and nephews

Survivors include his wife Tammy Meier of Waterloo; daughter Emily Elizabeth Meier of Waterloo; son Adam Michael Meier of Waterloo; father John (Jackie) Meier of Shell Rock, Iowa; mother Sharyn (Robert) Bohach of Mesa, Arizona; sister Sara (Henry) Saladrigas of Mobile, Alabama; brother Scott (Tammy) Meier of Readlyn; grandmother Dorothy Wilson Janesville; and twenty nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at Celebration First Assembly of God Church, 745 April Dr.

Visitation:
for an hour before the service at the church
